euphorbia or cactus tree, Euphorbia candelabrum. Its copious milky sap is eye poison and also applied to swollen glands of cattle suffering from east-coast fever. The tree can be used as a live fence. The hollow wood is used for carving musical instruments like thumb pianos (akoogoi)
